Message from Mrs. Stamer

I hope you were able to find time to connect with your child’s teacher today during conferences and your Thanksgiving Break is off to a great start. This past week I had someone share a reel with me. The reel really touched my heart and so much that I believe in. I realized the reel was part of a TED Talk, so I had to find the TED Talk and listen to the whole thing. I am sharing a link and I encourage everyone to take the 7 minutes to watch this TED Talk by 7 year old Molly Wright. As we go into this week remember her words “Every moment together is an opportunity to connect, talk and play”. Enjoy this time together and remember to put down your devices and find time to connect. Our children need us and it is in some of the smallest of ways we can be there for them. Molly sure gave me some great reminders and things to think about even though my children are past the first 5 years of their lives. Molly Wright TED Talk

I am so grateful for the opportunity to be the principal of Forest Road School and to get to spend so many days watching your children grow. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you to the PTO for always putting together great fundraisers for Forest Road. The Trivia Night was a success and one of the raffle prizes was Principal for the Day. The Woss family won the raffle and Ms. Amanda Woss took on being the Principal for the Day last Thursday. We had a such a great time together. She helped organize snacks for Friendsgiving, did the morning announcements, took some walks around the building to check on classrooms, lead our staff meeting and even took Dr. Covino around the building to show him how "buddies" works at Forest Road. Way to go, Ms. Woss.

Thank you for all the food donations. The Westchester Food Pantry delivered over 300 Thanksgiving meals and Forest Road was able to contribute so much to make that happen.
