Message from Mrs. Stamer & Mr. Ontiveros

As our district embarks upon the early steps and stages of a 5 year Strategic Plan, we wanted to align more of the Community Bulletin with many of the topics that will be part of this plan. The intent is to more explicitly  invite all of you into our classrooms and hallways and give you a front row seat to some of the very best of who we are when we are with your children. We are truly fortunate to be able to bear witness to daily discoveries of hidden treasure and moments of true joy when all the words start to make sense and all the numbers add up. In the weeks ahead you will see this section titled “Curriculum corner”. For this week I want to share some pictures from our February buddies meeting. Each month students meet with their buddies to do a project/activity, have a conversation and a time to interact. Buddies are paired with intermediate and primary students. Buddies allows for younger students to have older students to look up to and to feel safe around older students. It also gives the opportunity for our older students to take on leadership roles and times to look out for our younger students. This is a time each month the children truly enjoy!

Multicultural Night

Save the Date! Thursday, April 18th from 6p-7:30p for Multicultural Night at Forest Road

Multicultural Night is where school families are invited to share elements of their culture or ethnicity with other members of the school community.  It will take place in the Forest Road gym, where families will have a table to display clothing, food items, pictures, maps, instruments, books- anything that they would like to display that highlights their culture or ethnicity.  As many of us get together to celebrate the holidays with our families and friends, it may be a good opportunity to gather something to share at Multicultural Night!
