FR News - SUMMER EDITION 6/17/24

LOLO

Message from Mrs. Stamer

I hope everyone’s summer is off to a great start. Enjoy the days and soak up the memories. Find time to relax, read and play. Please also find some time to keep up on skills, so your child is ready to go when we return. This will help them feel more successful as they start a new school year. Please look through this newsletter for a few opportunities through the library and IXL for some summer practice.

Although I will be in and out of my office over the summer, we will be closed at the end of this week and will return at the beginning of August. In the meantime, I wanted to share a few “Save the Dates” for the beginning of the 24/25 school year.

Wednesday, August 21st: 5:00 - 6:00 - Back to School “Teacher Meet and Greet and School Supply Drop Off”; This is going to be new for the upcoming school year and since this will be an in person event, we will shift our curriculum night to a virtual event.

Thursday, August 22nd: Principal/Parent Meeting and Coffee -  A time to meet the principal and assistant principal, have some coffee and hear about the upcoming school year. Let’s talk about how we can work together as a team.

Friday, September 6th: Back to School Bash - Let’s all meet up on the blacktop to have fun and celebrate the start of the school year. Time TBD

Summer EBT, or SUN Bucks, is a new permanent nutrition program authorized U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to help families buy food for their school-aged children during the summer. SUN Bucks 2024 will provide a $120 annual benefit to eligible children via an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) issuance by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) later this summer. Illinois is one of 36 states that have announced their intent to launch Summer EBT in summer 2024.
