LaGrange D102 needs your help.
Half of D102’s schools are more than 100 years old, and our district faces a number of challenges related to aging facilities. This fall, we’ve launched a Renew D102, a community engagement initiative focused on ensuring our students learn in adequate, accessible and safe schools.
Renew D102 is a community-led effort to bring the entire La Grange community together to develop goals and priorities to improve our schools. Led by a team of community volunteers, Renew D102 consists of a series of community workshops, building tours and an online community survey.
We need your input on important decisions such as:
Shifting to a 6 - 8 middle school model
Expanding our early childhood options
Elementary school updates
Financing updates to our schools
Everyone is encouraged to learn more about the challenges and opportunities facing our schools and help develop long-term solutions that will move the district forward. Renew D102 community workshops will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesdays, Oct. 15 and 29, at Park Junior High School, 325 North Park Road in LaGrange Park. Childcare and translation services will be provided.
During the community workshops, you’ll learn about D102’s facilities, educational programs and finances and participate in interactive work activities to help identify the community’s priorities for the future of our schools. Results from Renew D102 will be included in recommendations that will be presented to the Board of Education in December.
Please join us on Oct. 15 and 29 and help D102 build, grow and thrive in the future. Please register here so we can plan accordingly.
