District 102 Families,
We are off to a great start to the 24-25 school year! The entire staff is very excited to have all of your children back in their classrooms. Thank you for making sure your students were ready to start the year strong. As this year opens, I am eager to begin work on several of the aspects of our newly adopted D102 Strategic Plan: VISION 2023. I want to take this opportunity to once again thank the hundreds of families, staff members and community leaders who participated in its development and adoption last year. In October I will be presenting our metrics for success to the Board of Education and posting our progress for all to see.
Two themes that run through several of our strategic goals are effective communication and community engagement. Here are five ways that we hope to partner with you this school year in order to realize these goals:
Please consider becoming a member of one of our District 102 Board of Education committees. For more detailed information about all of our District Committees, please visit our website by clicking HERE . All those who submit their interest in a D102 committee will receive confirmation and additional information about their selected committees by Monday, September 9th.

Please visit our Family Resources page on our website for information about Curriculum, Assessments and Student Support Services. We continue to add new information and videos for families to learn about the more frequently asked questions we receive.
We continue to be committed to maintaining safe and secure schools as well as a school environment that fosters belonging, inclusion and trust. You can ALWAYS call your school principal to discuss these topics, but if you would like to remain anonymous, please use our TIP LINE to report a concern or an incident. It is essential for all of us to work together. If you see something, say something.
You can expect to receive classroom and school information on a weekly basis from your school principal and your child’s teacher. We will also send monthly newsletters from the District. But, if you want or need more information about your child or our programming, please do not hesitate to call or email your child’s school or teacher.
Finally, we are adding several opportunities to connect directly with you:
We will host a series of coffees with the Superintendent and Principals we are affectionately calling ‘Brewing Success’. These opportunities for Q&A will be held just after student arrival - one in each of our school buildings starting in October. More details will come directly from your building Principal. Of course, coffee will be served!
We will host three Community Engagement opportunities in the evenings throughout October and November. These meetings will focus on our facilities and ways that we would like to ensure our buildings and classrooms are future ready for your children and the next generation of students who will walk through our doors. More information to come on the dates, times and locations for these opportunities.
